The story of the Samaritan woman is found in John 4:1-42. Jesus, while traveling through Samaria, stops at Jacob’s well and encounters a Samaritan woman drawing water. He asks her for a drink, breaking social norms since Jews and Samaritans typically avoided interaction.

As their conversation unfolds, Jesus reveals His divine knowledge of her personal life—she has had five husbands and is living with a man who is not her husband. Shocked, she perceives Him as a prophet. Jesus then speaks of “living water,”symbolizing eternal life, and reveals that true worship is in spirit and truth, not confined to a specific location.

Recognizing Him as the Messiah, the woman rushes to her town, spreading the news. Many Samaritans believe in Jesusbecause of her testimony, demonstrating that salvation is for all, regardless of social or ethnic divisions.
